I research Scotland, film what I find, and build products with a human-made process. No dropshipping. No shortcuts.
Exploring the world, one story at a time.
The story

I grew up learning to work with my hands. For twelve years I crafted wooden pens on a lathe (proper, handmade pieces). Over time my work reached some remarkable people, including the Dalai Lama and the Queen.

After settling in Edinburgh, I started doing what most people only talk about: going to the places everyone mentions and actually understanding them. Not just visiting, but reading the history, digging through archives, and returning again and again until the story becomes clear.

That work became JourneyDude in Scotland. Nearly a thousand videos covering everything from the Royal Mile and Freemason history to overlooked towns like North Berwick and Dunbar, plus deeper documentaries (including one on the Sikh community in Leith and their 500-year story).

My most obsessive research focus has been Rosslyn Chapel. I’ve visited 109 times so far. Years of visits and reading about the Knights Templar, alchemy, symbolism, and medieval geometry led to a novel: Epoch of Aodhan: The One, historical fiction built on real research and set around Rosslyn Chapel.

Alongside the filmmaking and writing, I run a fundraiser called Send Me on Adventure. People submit challenges for me to take on across Scotland, I film them, and 100% of donations go to the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.
